Effect of Chok - Samni ( S36 ) Acupunture on the Gastric Motility

Abstract
|
|
|
In order to determine effects of Chok-Samni(S_(36)) acupuncture on the gastric motility in the cat, alteration in the motility of stomach by actylcholine or norepinephrine was observed before and 20 min. after Jok Sam Lee acupuncture. Results obtained as follows:
1. Chok-Samni acupuncture significantly increased the mean wave amplitude and motor index of the gastric movement.
2. Acetylcholine(10㎍) increased the mean wave amplitude and motor index. Effects by acetylcholine on the gastric motility did not show and difference between before and after Chok-Samni acupuncture.
3. Norepinephrine(10㎍) inhibited markedly the mean wave amplitude, percent motor activity and motor index.
Inhibition of the mean wave amplitude and motor index by norepinephrine was reduced after Chok-Samni acupuncture compared to before the acupuncture.
These results suggest that Chok-Samni(S_(36)) acupuncture stimulated the gastric motility, therefore, it seems to be applicable to the alimentary disease.
